Practice Policies
Georgia Coast Surgical has a bariatric surgeon on call twenty four hours per day, seven days a week for emergencies. The surgeon on call is either Dr. Peter Henderson or Dr. Harold Kent. Georgia Coast Surgical is committed to providing our patients with personal care, and you will never get an on call surgeon who is not familiar with the surgery that you have had. Please limit the use of after hours calling for emergency situations only. We ask that you call the office during business hours for appointments, to speak with the physician assistant or nursing staff, as well as to have prescriptions refilled. Prescriptions will not be filled after hours or on weekends.
All new patients must complete the patient information profile and patient history questionnaire prior to their scheduled appointment time. Bariartric patients have an additional diet history questionnaire and psychological questionnaire to complete. We must have the information in our office 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment in order to process the paperwork into our electronic medical records.
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. As a courtesy to our patients, we will bill your insurance company; however, any fees such as co-insurance, deductibles, or out-of-network fees are collected prior to the service being rendered. Fees are always reviewed with patients at their initial visit, or you may call for more details.
