General Surgery
General surgeons are highly trained specialists who operate on “the skin and all of its contents”. A general surgeon must complete a minimum of five years of training after graduating from medical school. They are trained to deal with complex elective problems as well as with management of trauma and other emergency situations. General surgeons perform surgery by open and laparoscopic (minimally invasive) techniques, and also perform endoscopy. Dr. Kent is board certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. See the related topics links for more information.
